Abominations of Yondo is a collaboration between Cousin Silas and Kevin Busby, presented by Earthrid. The music on this album was inspired by the writings of Clark Ashton Smith, and is named after one of his most atmospheric tales. Clark Ashton Smith wrote ornately worded tales of fantasy, mostly during the 1930s. Much of his work was originally published in the influential "pulp" fiction magazine Weird Tales, and he shared some themes and mythologies with his correspondent and fellow...

Clandestine, the third album by Abominations of Yondo follows swiftly after the release of its precursor, That Remote and Awful Twilight, but reveals very different aspects of this duo’s explorations of mysterious realms. From the vibrant opening of ‘A Million Mouths at Dawn’, through the growing danger of ‘The Airborne Plague’ to the comforting sojourn ‘At Home with Drax Plunkett’, the album unfolds an ever-changing set of moods to fuel the listener’s imagination. Abominations...

This, the second album by Abominations of Yondo, has among its influences the penultimate chapter of 'The Time Machine' by H.G. Wells. However, the listener is of course free to associate other scenarios, memories or febrile imaginings with the assembled sounds. The moment of 'Escape Velocity' owes a stylistic debt to the work of the master synthesist and producer Isao Tomita, to whom the track is dedicated. The album as a whole is dedicated to all people who feel obliged to space-time....

Elliot Smith, the man behind Spill Twins, lives in Birmingham, England and works as a software developer, specialising in open source applications. His one-man music project reflects this perspective and, although software is used to produce the music, Elliot tries to spend zero money on software and sounds, since he finds that the constraints enforced by a limited set of software helps him to focus on the music. One Million Corners, the debut release by Spill Twins, presents some of the best...

It’s been a decade since Carya Amara started Earthrid with the visceral electronic album Vestigial Digital. It was followed by two retrospectives of music dating back as far as 1980, Extinction Frequency and Tales of the Unattractive. Since then there have been collaborative projects (released on Earthrid) and related musical ventures but no solo Carya Amara… but now here at last is The Late Carya Amara. Anyone (and there were quite a few) who was perplexed by the diverse approaches of...
